U.S. electronics recycling is at $20.6 billion, with room to grow

The U.S. electronics-recycling industry has grown from less than $1 billion in 2002 to $20.6 billion today, employing more than 45,000 people. Scale is crucial to success, executives say. "There is a profit, but until you get volume, it's difficult to make money in this market," says e-recycling entrepreneur Chase Hinsey.
