Hotel industry lagging behind economic recovery, expert says

Despite an upswing in the economy, the hotel industry is lagging behind general economic growth and is moving at historic lows, says hospitality guru Bjorn Hanson. Hanson said the industry is in a "truncated" recovery cycle, with rates driving revpar perhaps next year, whereas a normal recovery would involve increased occupancy and then increased rates driving revpar.
