Hospital opens 1st public cord-blood bank in Boston

The Brigham and Women's Hospital has established the first public cord-blood bank in Boston, providing about 8,000 mothers who annually give birth at the hospital with a venue to donate umbilical cord blood. The cord-blood bank donation center opened at the end of May and has now received 130 cord-blood donations.
