Online charter schools and virtual classes are transforming education

South Carolina will open two more online charter schools and increase the number of students at public schools who take at least one class online. "We're now moving into the 'click-and-mortar' learning instead the brick-and-mortar schools," says the head of the state's Office of E-Learning. Lawmakers might want to take a close look at the schools as a way to both provide a good education and cut costs, writes the publisher of the S.C. Statehouse Report.
