Reinventing the music game

MTV knows there are lots of indie artists out there who can't get a record deal -- but what if they could get into a video game? The owner of the hugely popular "Rock Band" game is preparing to allow all artists to submit their music to be included as downloadable tracks for the game, with 30% of proceeds going back to the artist. It's a whole new distribution model that one MTV executive likens to a "kind of a capitalistic petri dish."
