Study: Combining PET, CT angiography improves CAD diagnosis

A British study involving 33 patients with suspected coronary artery disease found that rubidium-based PET combined with CT angiography is more effective at diagnosing CAD than CTA alone. "CT performs [with] limited specificity and positive predictive value, which improves with the PET data to perfection, with the cost of some sensitivity," the lead author said.
