U.K. to boost spending on biotech crop research, report says

The U.K. plans to spend more than $164 million over five years on research and development of biofortified crops, drought-tolerant maize and pest-resistant crops, according to a white paper. The move is aimed at addressing poverty in Africa and other developing countries, according to the report.
