Boston should look at the hard lessons other cities have learned as it considers a major expansion of its convention center in the hopes of boosting tourism and hotel room nights, according to this commentary. The convention center in Orlando, Fla., for instance, is twice the size it was in 2003 but does less business, and Las Vegas hosted 200,000 fewer visitors at its convention center after doubling the center's size.
