Dell pulls in a data-dedupe tool with its Ocarina acquisition

Dell is buying Ocarina Networks, a maker of data deduplicaton and compression technology, for an undisclosed sum and says the technology acquisition will meld well with its EqualLogic enterprise storage portfolio. The Ocarina products promise to save enterprises 30% to 75% of storage capacity.
