FAA to require re-registration of civil aircraft

The Federal Aviation Administration will now require re-registration of civil aircraft over the next three years. The FAA will charge a $5 fee for registrations, and will cancel N-numbers of aircraft that fail to re-register. "We are disappointed that the FAA has chosen what may turn out to be a complicated and costly method of updating the aircraft registry," said AOPA Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Rob Hackman.
