Obesity is a risk factor for psoriatic arthritis, study finds

A U.S. study showed that people who reported being obese at age 18 were at an increased risk of developing psoriatic arthritis earlier in life. Researchers found that 20% of those who were obese or overweight as young adults developed psoriatic arthritis by age 35, compared with 20% of their normal-weight counterparts who did not develop the disease until age 48.
