Officials: Winter school closures did not affect Md. test scores

Maryland officials say this year's blizzards that closed schools for days did not affect the results of state tests. In some districts, elementary-school students showed no or little improvement in reading or math, but state Superintendent Nancy Grasmick said she was satisfied. "Twenty-one of our counties are at 80 percent, and you are not going to see huge increments of progress," she said.
