PET/CT can be used to assess effect of hypofractionated radiotherapy

A Dutch study involving rectal cancer patients found that CT perfusion results following hypofractionated radiotherapy correlated with FDG-PET results in showing increased tumor perfusion. The findings indicate that PET/CT can be used to assess the early effects of the radiotherapeutic procedure in this patient group, a researcher said.
