PP compounder Asahi Kasei introduces new material

Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, one of the continent's largest polypropylene compounders, celebrated its 10th anniversary by introducing a new material. During an event near its Fowlerville, Mich., facility, the firm unveiled Thermylene SWP, a stress-whitening-prevention version of the company's existing line of PP compounds. The material has nylon-like properties, making it strong enough to endure pressure and prolonged wear and tear, Asahi officials said.
