Investors give $61M to help Essence expand cloud tools for ACOs

Essence Group Holdings will use $61 million from private investors to extend its Lumeris unit's cloud-based tools and services to health care groups developing accountable care organizations. The tools include clinical decision support systems designed to help providers choose the most cost-effective therapies for patients, the firm's CEO said.
