Obama signals willingness to accept a short-term debt-limit deal

President Barack Obama said he might accept a short-term increase to the debt limit if it is tied to a long-term compromise on deficit reduction. He previously threatened to veto any short-term solution. Obama apparently would allow a debt-ceiling increase of "a few days" to give a broader measure time to make it through Congress.
