Study: Aerobic exercises may stave off metabolic syndrome

Patients who engaged in aerobic exercises alone or in combination with weight lifting had better body mass, triglyceride levels and overall metabolic syndrome score compared to those who only had weight lifting exercises, a study found. The findings in the American Journal of Cardiology suggest that aerobic exercises, including walking and jogging, may help cut the risk of metabolic syndrome, while resistance training alone may have little impact on the condition, experts said.
