Florida subpoenas drugmakers on suspicion of overcharging Medicaid

Florida's attorney general issued subpoenas to six generic drugmakers to produce records for a probe into the possibility they fixed wholesale prices used as the basis for Medicaid program payments. The official estimated overcharges to the Florida program exceeded $100 million and subpoenaed records dating back to 1994 from the companies, none of which commented on the investigation.
