New York Gov. calls special session to discuss school funding

New York Gov. George Pataki called an "extraordinary session" of the state Legislature for this Thursday to hammer out a school funding plan. Despite the urgency of the issue -- the Legislature is under a court order to devise a workable plan -- Senate majority leader Joseph L. Bruno said he was unsure if lawmakers would discuss anything. If no compromise is reached, the courts will create a plan.
