High-tech concrete used in historic bridge renovations

Advanced concrete technology allowed engineering firm French & Parrello of Wall, N.J., to preserve the historic character of two heavily traveled bridges while bringing them up to current safety standards. In one project, the firm spent only a few days installing inverted T-sections of pre-cast concrete, which were locked together with cast-in-place closure pours and covered with stone from a local quarry.
