NASA negotiates possible purchase of Japanese spacecraft

NASA is in talks with Japan's space agency to buy units of an unmanned cargo transfer spacecraft, according to Japanese media reports. Japan's H-2 Transfer Vehicle costs about $131 million and will be introduced this fall. If the U.S. buys the spacecraft, it would serve as the successor to the space shuttle.
