Volunteer mowing brigade tends neglected New Orleans park

Armed with lawn mowers and weed trimmers, a small army of volunteers is taking back a New Orleans park from the ravages of neglect following Hurricane Katrina. The City Park Mow-Rons began in 2006 when two neighbors independently decided to spend their Saturdays mowing sections of the untended, 1,300-acre park. As more volunteers joined the effort, they incorporated as a nonprofit organization, raising enough money to buy 10 push mowers and four ride-ons.
