With Fed facing criticism, Bernanke heads to the Hill

Credited with taking measures that blunted the edge of the financial collapse, the chairman of the Federal Reserve is now facing calls from Congress to curb his office's power. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, has been the Fed's most vocal critic, contending that it needs more oversight and should eventually be dismantled entirely. Chairman Ben Bernanke, set to face Congress today, is confident his agency can restart lending and get the economy back on its feet.
