Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and four other hospitals in Montgomery County will be the first to use the Maryland's health information exchange starting in September, with plans to link all in-state hospitals by 2012. The Electronic Health Information Exchange aims to "make sure all kinds of information are available to caregivers no matter where that caregiver is," a health system executive said.
