DOT: Airline employment down 2.7% in May

U.S. airline employment shrank for a 23rd consecutive month in May due to layoffs and outsourcing, the Transportation Department reports. May's employment figure stood at 377,000 workers, a decline of 10,500 from the same month last year. Since the beginning of the recession, about 10% of U.S. airline workers have lost their jobs.
