FHA: About 150,000 U.S. bridges "deficient," need repairs

The bridge that collapsed along Minnesota's Interstate 35W nearly three years ago continues to haunt lawmakers, who are pushing to fund bridge repairs and replacements nationwide. "It's only a matter of time before it's another one in the river," said Minnesota Rep. Tim Walz, D-Minn., a member of the House Transportation subcommittee. Data from the Federal Highway Administration suggests that some 150,000 U.S. bridges are deficient.
