HP's trademark move prompts speculation about a webOS tablet

Hewlett-Packard's application to retain a trademark for "PalmPad" for computer and wireless devices has prompted industry and media speculation that the company is developing a tablet based on Palm's webOS operating system. "It's not far-fetched to think that a variant of webOS is ready for a tablet," said analyst Jack Gold of J. Gold Associates.
