Obesity surgery is tied to vitamin deficiency, pregnancy risks

Australian physicians said a women who had obesity surgery developed severe vitamin deficiencies during a later pregnancy and gave birth to a blind child. Vitamin deficiency is a common side effect of weight-loss surgery, and physicians advise women who have had it be tested before becoming pregnant.
