Study: Tumors have different characteristics

Researchers who studied the PET/CT scans of 13 patients with head and neck cancer said the tumors were different in terms of metabolism, cell growth and oxygen deprivation. These differences affect how tumors respond to radiation treatment, and the finding could "lead to better understanding in designing personalized cancer therapy," a researcher said.
