Senate transportation bill wins unanimous support from witnesses

A two-year, $339 billion surface transportation plan won the approval of witnesses at a Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing on Thursday. "I think it does show that among Democrats and Republicans, this is a strong priority," said Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif. She noted that the Gang of Six specifically recommended 10-year funding for the transportation bill.
