Bill to lift ban on HIV-positive transplant donors moves forward

A House panel has unanimously passed a bill that would lift a ban on transplants of organs from HIV-infected people. The Senate has already passed a similar bill. "We need to begin to research the feasibility and safety of these transplants in hopes that more people can receive transplants, and more lives can be saved," said Rep. Lois Capps, D-Calif., who put the bill forward.
