Contracts with less liquidity will daunt EMIR, expert warns

Anthony Belchambers, CEO of the Futures and Options Association, cautions that the European Securities and Markets Authority will be challenged when crafting regulations for derivatives with fluctuating liquidity. "Central clearing may turn some contracts into uneconomic instruments," he said. "ESMA must balance policy initiatives with economic consequences for end users."
