Detroit bankruptcy not expected to affect 2 big projects

Funding for two major projects in Detroit -- the $650 million hockey and entertainment arena and the $137 million Woodward Avenue streetcar line -- are not expected to be affected by the city's bankruptcy filing, according to this article. The Downtown Development Authority, which is funding the projects, has a separate budget and revenue stream from the general fund, said Brian Holdwick, executive vice president for business development of the Detroit Economic Growth Corp.
