Gold nanoparticles key to electronics that bend, stretch

07/21/2013 | CNET

Wearable and implantable electronics may soon take a step forward with a stretchable conductor. The development by researchers at the University of Michigan embeds spherical gold nanoparticles in polyurethane, enabling the material to conduct electricity even when stretched to twice its relaxed length.
