Ore. district mulls Vietnamese dual-immersion program

Officials with Portland Public Schools in Oregon are considering adding Vietnamese to its dual-immersion school offerings, which already includes Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese and Russian. Like the other programs, the Vietnamese program is intended to help English-speaking and English-language-learning students gain proficiency in two languages. Vietnamese is one of the most widely spoken languages in the district.
