Physician suggests "5-2-1-0 Rule" to help prevent childhood obesity

Nationwide, nearly one-third of children are obese or overweight, and in Kentucky the rate is more than 37%, physician Robert Rettie writes. In this commentary, he asserts that preventing childhood obesity is a "family matter." He suggests a "5-2-1-0 Rule," in which children eat five fruits and vegetables daily, limit screen time to no more than two hours a day, exercise for one hour a day and drink no sugary drinks.
