Students in the United Kingdom who change schools mid-year in their primary- and secondary-school years are more likely to have lower grades, according to a recent report. "Any government or any headteacher who cares about closing the gap should focus on those pupils who move mid-year," said Joe Hallgarten, who initiated the research.
