Solar panels may soon come in more than basic black

The basic black of solar panels, ideal for absorbing the most energy from sunlight, is less than ideal aesthetically. Now a German company plans to make multi-colored cells that sacrifice a tiny amount of efficiency for a major improvement in eye appeal using paper-thin silicon wafers topped by a transparent anti-reflective oxide coating.
