Supersymmetry research shaken by rare-particle decay rate

A rare-particle transformation observed by physicists working on the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland could be discouraging for researchers seeking signs of supersymmetry, which posits that all particles have a heavier partner. The physicists at CERN confirmed they saw a Bs meson particle decay into two muons. Many supersymmetric models predict a higher rate of decay.
