Tesco boosts cold-drink prices as mercury climbs

A heatwave in the U.K. has sales of bottled water doubling, with some grocers running out and Tesco raising prices on water and fizzy drinks. "Retailers are selling a lot and panicking about selling out. Some water brands have got major shortages," said James Smith, managing director of private-label bottled-water supplier Shepley Spring, which is running its four bottling lines around the clock to keep up with demand.
