Angioplasty among the medtech advances saving lives and money

Lifesaving medical technology including angioplasty contributes a net economic benefit of $23 billion each year, according to a report published by the Milken Institute. The researchers evaluated medical technology for heart disease and other conditions, and found that technologies including angioplasty in combination with echocardiography, electrocardiography and pacemakers resulted in cost savings and health benefits for patients. The report noted that increased innovation in the three areas could save billions more.
