Blackout forces closure of five Deere sites

Deere & Co. closed five facilities in Illinois Monday after thunderstorms knocked out power in the area. About 1,500 workers were affected, the company said. Emergency parts distribution was shifted to various facilities, and a temporary call center was put online to service John Deere dealers.
