Delta and Northwest merger to produce $2 billion savings

The merger announced in April between Delta Airlines and Northwest Airlines now looks rosier than ever. After a more detailed financial analysis, Delta says the merger will produce $2 billion in savings, up from the $1.2 billion announced in April. Delta has also negotiated a contract agreement with pilot groups ensuring pilots can fly planes from either airline.
