Monsanto seeks approval to test biotech cotton in West Australia

Monsanto Co. has filed an application to test a variety of biotech cotton in West Australia. WA Farmers Federation President Mike Norton backed the proposal, which he hopes will push the state government to lift its moratorium on commercial biotech crops. State Agriculture Minister Kim Chance expressed support for the trial, but dismissed immediate changes to the ban.
