Report: Office-vacancy rates could hit 17% next year

Grubb & Ellis is predicting office-vacancy rates that will approach record levels in 2009. In a report issued Monday, Grubb & Ellis said the national vacancy rate could reach 17% by the end of next year. Detroit has the highest office-vacancy rate, and New York City has the lowest.
