Abbott gets FDA warning on Kaletra DVD featuring Magic Johnson

The FDA cited Abbott Laboratories for what the agency called serious marketing violations in a promotional DVD for HIV drug Kaletra that features basketball star Earvin "Magic" Johnson. The video appears to have used an outdated version of Kaletra's label and overstates the safety and efficacy of the product, according to the FDA's warning letter. The company discontinued use of the promotional material last year and plans to respond to the agency's concerns by Tuesday, an Abbott spokeswoman said.
