Nature sculpture displayed at scorched botanic garden

A wildfire destroyed 60 acres of the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden in May, but the garden's wildflower meadow was unhurt because of a state-of-the-art irrigation system. So, the California attraction went ahead with plans for a sculpture display. Artist Herb Parker assembled a massive nature sculpture with a green roof on the scorched earth of the gardens. The templelike structure stands 13 feet high and 40 feet wide and allows for views of the surrounding gardens.
