Pakistan troubles with Taliban amplified by U.S. campaign in Afghanistan

Pakistani officials are raising objections to U.S. plans to expand the war effort in Afghanistan, saying efforts by Marines to battle the Taliban in southern Afghanistan will send militants across the border -- potentially destabilizing the troubled Baluchistan region. Pakistan's forces already are committed to a tough battle in South Waziristan, where Taliban fighters are greater in number than those that recently were rooted out of Swat Valley in a difficult campaign.
