From cold calling to a hot idea

When Sarah Prevette started a teen-oriented website in 2007, she says, she didn't know where to turn for answers to her business questions. She resorted to cold-calling entrepreneurs whom she admired, and she says she was "shocked and bothered when they wouldn't call me back." Seeing a need, Prevette launched Sprouter, an online forum where entrepreneurs can socialize and brainstorm using a Twitter-like format. With 15,000 registered members and two angel investors, Prevette is turning her attention to monetizing the site.
