Drinkers are trimming costs, says Mintel

According to Mintel, people who drink alcohol are saving money by drinking at home, switching to less-expensive brands and cutting back on total consumption. The researcher found that the market for alcoholic drinks consumed at home has increased 21% since 2004, and that more than half the people who drink at home say discounts and promotions influence their purchases.
